(nearly) walking, questions, and mommy's big news

Just chillin' out and watching a bit of TV.

Look at the cutie! Sarah has such as easy smile and she's always ever too willing to pose for the camera (unlike her older sis who tells me "No pictures mommy!").

Shelby is force feeding Nate here. She loves to "make" us food and then have us eat it. She tells us to "Open wide!" It's way too cute.

Well, here we are another week closer to summer vacation... Sarah is almost walking. When I say this, I mean that she can walk around anything while holding on, and she can push her shopping cart or stroller and walk, but has only taken 2 or 3 steps at a time on her own without dropping down to her knees and opting for the old, dependable crawling. I can't say I blame her, as it is the only way for her to keep up with Shelby yelling at her "Come on baby!" By the way, I have this vision of Shelby calling Sarah "baby" until she is in high school! She can say Sarah and does when I ask her to, but it's just habit to call her baby I think. Anyway, Sarah is super close to crawling, and I will upload a pic of that soon.
Shelby is the girl of questions right now. Everything is "What's that?" or "Where is it?" My personal favorite is "Where baby is?" She asks that when she can't find Sarah. I am hoping she will turn the words around on her own if I model the right way enough. Yesterday in the Dairy Queen bathroom (we have to visit all new bathrooms now that we use the potty), she spotted the chairs they mount on some restroom walls to put babies in and asked "What's that?" I had to explain. Then, last night we went out to check on our baby robins whose nest is in the backyard and they were gone. She asked "Where birds go?" and I said I thought they were up in the tree, but she told me no, and pointed to the sky in the opposite direction and told me they were over there. Those birds have been source of daily interest for Shelby for the past 3 weeks. We have to check on them everyday and she tells lots of people we meet that we have baby birds.
As for my big news, well I am leaving the first grade classroom next year for a reading specialist job at my school. It will be a big change for me, but I am ready to focus on one part of teaching and really give it my all. I hope that I will like it as much as I think I will.
