this and that

So, I've come to the conclusion that in order to find time to post, I need more than a typical 2 day weekend or a snow day. What does that say about me? I don't know, maybe that I have too much going...That's not about to get better until say, June, but oh well. Work is crazy at the moment with grant applications, evaluation portfolios, lots of meetings for my students and the normal everyday stuff.

I just have some random pics and stories to share. I have been a real loser with the camera lately. Not taking many pictures for no other reason than I forget to. Shelby is just as funny as ever. I swear that girl is a trip with a capital T. She says the funniest things these days. My favorite...random "I love you Mommy" and "Mommy your my best friend" Enough to melt your heart. She has also taken to asking me how my day was every day on the way home from work. So sweet! Her vocabulary is coming out of nowhere. It leaves Nate and I wondering often where she learns it. Last week, she put one of her hats on my head and told me I looked distinguished. What Shelby, are you 3 or 30? She also is beginning to protest to being called Peanut which Nate and I have done since she was born. She tells us, "I'm not a peanut, I'm Shelby!"

Sarah is still fighting a cough which is making me crazy. We made a trip to Dr. G last Friday and he put her on an antibiotic for a sinus infection and Prednazone for the persistent cough. He feels it might be a form of child's asthma which causes colds to settle in as a cough. That is making her a grump, but we are seeing some improvement at night and naptime with the coughing, but she still has coughing spells during the day when she is very active. I hate that she doesn't feel great, and Nate thinks that I worry way too much. Isn't that my job and right as the mom? In other news, the potty was a fluke, she hasn't gone again. Also, she is saying everything! The girl is picking up new words left and right and putting together 2 and 3 words phrases. I'm impressed! She is talking circles around Shelby at this age. It's always amazing to me how sisters can be so different, but they are! My favorite (and least favorite at the same time) is "What's that?" She asks it all the time and about everything.

This is Miss Shelby with her favorite baby of the moment. She has decided that it's name is Tiny.

These 2 pictures are of Shelby's latest game. She just made it up one day and it hasn't gone away. I swear this girl has the most interesting imagination. She is "scrip scribing" or rollerskating I guess by standing on top of books and sliding around the kitchen floor. She even got Sarah in on the act yesterday and they both happily skated around the kitchen for a while. It was hilarious!
