Sarah's birthday was last Thursday and her party was last night. What fun and who can believe that my baby is 2 already? She really enjoyed her big day and "got it" alot more than I thought she would. She kept asking when her birthday party was and really got a kick out of opening the presents --that is, when her big sis wasn't trying to open them for her. Shelby really gets birthdays and was sort of jealous that her sister was getting cards in the mail, special attention, and of course PRESENTS while she wasn't. Of course, she did get a couple of presents so that she wouldn't feel too bad. As you can see, the theme of the party was Winnie and Pooh, a favorite of Sarah's right now although it could have easily been Dora or Blue's Clues as well since she loves them all. Here are some pics of our sweet girl on her big day.

This is the sand and water table that Sarah got from Nana and Papa S. for her birthday...a big hit with these outdoorsy girls. We braved the cool weather for mid-May this morning so that they could make a BIG mess by mixing the sand and water together. The orderly, anal retentive part of me was driven crazy by this but I know that really, what harm is there in mixing them? They dug right into the wet sand as well, which surprised me with Sarah as she seems to have some sensory issues with certain things (like brushing her teeth) but this one didn't bother her a bit. I finally had to drag them in for lunch and they both napped very well. I am really looking forward to summer vacation this year with these two. Only 2 more weeks!
