Happy times

Where, you might ask has Aimee been? Well friends, let me show you and tell you what we've been up to

Shelby and Nate have been pretty into fishing lately. She is, of course, grossed out by the fish and won't go near them, but loves going out with Daddy just the same. They even went out in the rain one night!
This desk is my belated birthday gift from Nate. I got a nice matching chair as well. It is so nice to have a nice spot for the computer instead of on our bedroom dresser as it has been since we moved into the downstairs bedroom when Sarah was born.

The girls have a new favorite place to eat... Perkin's has "kids eat free" nights on Tuesday and Thursday each week and they also have a great balloon guy. I have never seen balloons like this. He made Shelby a princess and Sarah Magenta (from Blue's Clues) the first night and then Nate took them back last Thursday while I had Open House at school and Shelby got a pink dog while Sarah chose a yellow butterfly. They love them and are asking when we can go back.
My brother got married last weekend. What a beautiful day for a wedding. It was a great day and we are so happy for Ryan and Susan! Sarah joined Uncle Ryan and Aunt Susan for one of their first dances. Then, thanks to the kindness of some friend of Ryan and Susan's who picked up my camera during the dollar dance, I have a rare pic with my little brother. Also, this picture will appease my mom and others who complain that I am never in any of the pictures on this blog because I am always behind the camera! The wedding weekend left me feeling a lot worn out and I have to get through the whole week at school!
So, that's what we've been up to! Oh and did I mention that Nate's brother is getting married in now less than 2 weeks? I am going to need a day off to recover from all of these busy but really good times.

Are they twins?

Who might you ask, am I referring to? My daughters! I have been asked 5 times in the past month and a half whether they are twins. Really??? First of all, I know they are beginning to look more and more alike but not THAT alike. Second, ummm did anyone else notice that Shelby is a whole head taller than Sarah and about 12 pounds heavier? I just don't get the questions, and I don't think anyone else believed me until Nate heard someone ask us at the apple orchard on Friday night. On Saturday I was telling my mom about it and I don't think she quite believed it was happening either and then my mom and dad heard it Saturday night when we were taking the girls out to dinner. Mom made an interesting point, they only way they're twins is it they are like Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzeneger in that movie, Twins.

I know it's been a while but back to school time always does that to me. Too much to do and not nearly enough time. The next few weeks won't be any better with our parade of weddings and wedding related activities coming up. We are very excited about my brother and Nate's brother's upcoming weddings, but I know we will breathe a big sigh of relief when they are all done and we won't be so busy (I think they will too for that matter).

Not much else is new here. Sarah has decided to try and get her way ALL the time by screaming bloody murder to get what she wants. Let's just say she's disappointed alot. Shelby is starting to take an interest in learning her letters and writing some too. I haven't pushed her about it, but being in pre-school with Miss Gretchen has sparked some interest. She can write her H, E, and L but she is hesitant to try her S. She is also identifying those letters plus A and N. She already "reads" things to us all the time which is too cute and amazing how much of the story she actually remembers.

Here are some random pics I have snapped in the past few weeks. Enjoy looking at my twins!
Shelby has really mastered the gator in the past few weeks. In fact, she has learned to shift into the faster gear! Sarah has learned to hold on tight and is even a bit nervous about riding with her big sis at times.

Shelby and daddy at the apple orchard. She's thanking him for her yummy apple pie, ice cream, and apple cider.

Sarah isn't a fan of veggies generally, but she absolutely LOVES corn on the cob. The girl goes to town on the stuff!
