YEAH!

Well, our wedding frenzy is all over! It's been a crazy but really special few weeks for our family. Nate's brother, Brandon got married on Saturday and we couldn't be happier for he and Deanna. The weather and the wedding were beautiful. Here are just a few pictures of the girls in their flower girl dresses before and after the wedding and then one of the girls walking into the reception with Brandon and Deanna (some of their favorite people). I didn't get many other pictures, unfortunately because with Nate being Best Man and the girls in the wedding too, I was pretty busy just keeping track of everyone. I am hoping my mom, Nate's mom and dad and of course the photographer got some good ones for me that I can post soon.

And now for our story of the weekend and the reason for the name of this post...

At rehearsal on Friday night, Shelby marched right on down the aisle (which I expected) and Sarah wanted me to hold her hand, so that's what I expected to happen on Saturday as well. The other thing we were trying to get the girls to do was walk back out of the church with Deanna's son Julian after the wedding. On Friday, they wouldn't do it, so all morning Saturday, I was talking to the girls about what they were going to be doing, just trying to get them ready.

Fast forward to the wedding, Sarah took off down the aisle without a second glance at me and stopped dead in her tracks when she got to the front of the church while Shelby stopped and wouldn't move without me, so I walked down the aisle with her, got Sarah and we sat down at the end of the front row. Now, I have to say that I didn't hear much of the ceremony because I was working hard to keep the girls occupied, sitting still and fairly quiet. Then, when I knew the end of the ceremony was near, I whispered to Shelby, "Are you going to walk with Julian after the wedding?" She whispered loudly "YEAH!" -- just as the pastor said "I now pronounce you man and wife." I'm not kidding. Really I'm not. Really. Everyone in the church started laughing. Even the pastor. I wanted to sink down through my seat and into the ground because I felt so embarassed. That's because I didn't realize what the pastor was saying at that exact moment. I told you I didn't hear much of the ceremony. Apparently, Shelby's timing was impeccable. I must have gotten asked 50 times that day if we had planned that. Absolutely not. I'm just glad everyone seemed to find it cute.

I have to send a shout out to Nate for his best man speech as well (not that he ever reads this). He was very, very nervous about that part of the day, but stayed up late Friday night/Saturday morning getting it just right and it paid off. He gave a very heartfelt yet funny speech. And just in case you were wondering as so many were at the reception, I did not write it for him, but I did help his organize his ideas and polish it up.

Hopefully, in a couple of weeks, I will have some more wedding pictures to post.
The girls playing in their dresses before we left for the church. They were chocolate brown with taupe flowers embroidered on them and a taupe sash. Too cute if I do say so myself!
The girls forgot to drop their petals while walking down the aisle, so I let them drop them in the church parking lot. They were real and I didn't want to clean them up later plus the girls were really bummed that they didn't remember to drop them in the church. You can't see Sarah here because she is on the other side of Sarah.
