A Bear's Birthday

Our main guy around here, Nate will be celebrating his 34th birthday tomorrow, so I took him to a Chicago Bear's game for his big day this past Sunday. We had a great, but COLD time there! It was our first pro football game, and I'm thinking it won't be our last. What a treat to have a whole day to ourselves so thanks goes out to Nate's brother Brandon, his wife Deanna, and her son Julian for entertaining and taking care of the girls for us on Sunday. They had a great time there and came home totally pooped out! Here is a pic I took near the end of the game (that's why the stands are so empty) and then one we snapped of ourselves so that we could remember our adventure.

In other news...we're in full-on holiday mode around here. The girls have an advent calendar for the first time and the highlight of their days has been coming home to see what their treat is for that day. We are going to visit the big guy (Santa) this weekend and we'll hope for better results than last year when there were lots more tears than smiles about our visit. We are going to a breakfast with Santa at a local golf course this time around in the hopes that having more time to check him out will help the girls not freak out quite so much. Time will tell...
I still have LOTS of Christmas shopping left to do, and my grinchy hubby isn't helping me out much. I had a sitter all ready to go for tomorrow, but he doesn't want to shop on his birthday! I tell ya, if it were up to that guy we'd be shopping on December 24 as the stores closed and our family would get whatever we could find as their gift. I just keep telling myself that it will all get done in time, but the question is whose???
One last complaint...I have been exercising my patience for the past week and a half waiting for my new computer to ship from Dell (my Christmas/anniversary gift from Nate). It was supposed to ship today until I got an e-mail telling me that it will now ship on or before December 19! What? I have to wait another almost 2 weeks? So not fair.
